I liked his approach so much, I bought his flatpicking book AND then I bought his fiddle book, as I had access to my late dad’s fiddle and I managed to get a fiddle strung, tuned, and playing some simple melodies. This book comes with a cd which has 2 recordings tthe every single song! I have both editions of Erbsen’s book and got some basics from the first and have found both to be sound and helpful.

The up-side of it is I can use either my index or middle finger without any problem. I had the opportunity to take clawhammer and bluegrass classes from him in college. Worth getting, I think.
